You might have been forgiven for thinking that Google was looking to wind down Google+. Only a few months ago it announced the spin-off of some of Google+’s most popular features. Google Hangouts and photos both found new, independent homes, and subsequently further success. However, Google has surprised industry pundits, by honouring its claim that Google+ would stay! Google+ has announced a revamp of its website and apps to refocus the tool on Communities and Collections.

Communities and Collections are where Google+ users have found the most engagement. Google+ is trimming down and simplifying its design and usability to further improve the things people like about the network.

Google+ has struggled to gain popularity but active users and advocates know that when it comes to expertise and common interests, there’s no better place to find vibrant communities.
