IBM’s Watson the ‘cognitive computer’ with the ability to process "all the information humans produce for other humans to consume” has joined Bon Appétit magazine in the kitchen, partnering up to produce a recipes app. IBM’s Watson supercomputer, also known for beating the best chess players in the world, has turned its database and computing power towards creating delicious recipes on demand. Drawing on a huge database of existing recipes as well as database of flavour compounds, together with psychological data about on human tastes, Chef Watson is able to provide recipes for all occasions, from tried and true to the unexpected.
