Loves Data representatives, Caitlin and I were sent on a mission: To film the Lee Mathews show at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, held at Carriageworks in Sydney, using the exclusive accessory – Google Glass. Not only were we inspired by some of Australia’s best creative minds, we also managed to unwittingly release the nerdy side of Fashion Week.
There’s nothing quite like Fashion Week. Stunning people from around the globe gather in the one gorgeous location in a mutual appreciation of innovation, beauty and style. As we flounced down the steps into Carriageworks, we were met with curious eyes and nudges, “What are those glasses?”

There were too many jaw-dropping outfits for me to comprehend and after about 20 minutes of celebrity spotting, it was time for the main event: filming Lee Mathews on Google Glass.
A hush fell over the audience, SUBTRKT’s ‘New Dorp New York’ started playing and the first model strutted down the catwalk. The soundtrack made full use of Carriageworks bass-friendly acoustics and was the perfect celebration of the brand’s 15th anniversary. The SS16 collection was Japanese-inspired and featured the classic Lee Mathews’ stripes, kimono-style dresses with side splits, loose pants and knit playsuits tied together with thick, leather obi belts. The models were a reflection of Lee’s elegant, oriental, avant-garde style, featuring “healthy look” makeup, messy ponytails and slider shoes. Lee uses all-natural fabrics, such as silk, wool, linen and cashmere, so not only do her clothes look amazing, you’ll never want to take them off (I can vouch for this). We say it’s the perfect holiday attire. Check out their online store for more from their current collection, including the outfits that we wore.
