Peace may have broken out with Google and Microsoft joining to call an end to their patent war. A new fight has however broken out with Amazon announcing it will no longer sell video streaming devices that are not compatible with its own online entertainment service. The new ban includes items such as Google’s Chromecast, and Apple TV. Despite their popularity the online retailer is willing to risk a hit to support its Amazon Video service.
Facebook’s New Look
Facebook is rolling out a new look for profile pages on mobile. Profile pictures are getting the big makeover. They will be larger and centered on the page. Facebook is also now allowing profile videos for those of us who just can’t sit still. Also coming in this update, easier control over what information is visible on our profiles and the ability to set temporary profile pictures. Making it easier to stay in the moment.

Google AdWords announced new goodies for TrueView and GDN. YouTube is getting ever more retail friendly with newly available Shopping Ads. Shopping ads on YouTube will build from an existing product feed in Google Merchant Center and be selected based on bidding and a variety of contextual signals. The new ads will provide a more interactive experience for viewers, letting them shop directly from a video.
Google Display Network going 100% viewable with an announcement promising advertisers that they won’t pay for an ad impression if it was not viewable on a page. Remarketing on GDN is also getting a boost with dynamic ads now being automatically re-shaped and resized to fit mobile devices. Ready to impress at any pivotal buying moment.
