I’m the Founder and CEO of Loves Data, and I’m going to help you understand your data and get the most out of your online campaigns. Loves Data is all about getting the most out of your data. We’re about getting to the good stuff and skipping the fluff. We’re specialists in Google’s marketing tools and have consulted with some of the biggest brands and trained over 25,000 people to do it themselves.

About us

How it started

Before we focused on all things data, we designed and built websites. We soon discovered more and more of our clients wanted to know how their websites were performing. I discovered Google Analytics when it first launched in 2005, and I loved how easy it was to start collecting data and reporting on performance.

We started using it with more and more of our clients, and in 2007, Loves Data became a Google Analytics Certified Partner. In 2009, I was named one of only eight Google Analytics Certified Trainers worldwide, the first outside the USA. Since then, I've delivered training for Google across Australia, New Zealand, and internationally, including training for 476 advertising agencies across APAC.

Loves Data has worked with global brands including Google, Nestlé, 3M, Flight Centre, Universal Music, and Amnesty International, delivering data-driven improvement. This includes a 62% increase in conversions for BT Financial (Westpac) and a 38% increase in online donations for Amnesty International Australia.

I'm the author of Learning Google AdWords and Google Analytics (2015, 2nd Edition 2018) and contributed to Google Analytics Integrations (2015). I've been a guest contributor to the Official Google Analytics Blog and have presented at analytics conferences across APAC, Europe, and North America. I also lectured on web analytics and digital strategy at the University of Technology Sydney.

My experience has evolved with every major platform update. From Google Analytics Classic and Urchin to Universal Analytics to GA4 (which I beta tested before launch). I’m certified in Google Analytics and Google Ads, and Loves Data is a Google Marketing Platform Partner.

Today, I share my knowledge through my courses, where I’ve trained over 15,000 people to master Google Analytics, Google Ads, Google Tag Manager, and Google Data Studio (previously Looker Studio). I’ve delivered in-person workshops and presentations to over 10,000 professionals and share videos on my YouTube channel, which has grown to over 150,000 subscribers.

My core beliefs:

  1. The key to success is simplicity. It doesn’t need to be complicated. Everybody should be able to use their data to improve their digital channels without needing a PHD in computer science.
  2. It’s better to focus on what works for you than trying to master everything at once. You don’t need to use every feature and report. Instead, focus on what gives you the best results.
  3. You can improve your website and campaigns using the data you already have. Once you understand what you’re looking at (even if it’s not perfect), you can achieve positive change.

How I got here:

I come from a design background, so I approach digital analytics and marketing as creative problem-solving. It’s about designing a solution that is simple and effective.

When I first started using Google Analytics, there were no books, there were only a handful of blogs, and Google's own support material was almost non-existent. It was an adventure. I'd experiment with the tracking code, wait a day for data to be processed, and then check the reports. Things took time, but it was possible to figure out the answer. I was problem-solving.

I've condensed 20 years of hands-on experience into my courses, videos, and blog to help you get the most out of your data without having to figure it out on your own. That's what drives everything I do. I share practical strategies and techniques that work.
